There are 4.8 million small businesses in the UK. Over 500,000 people start up their own business every year. This year will you be one of them?
There are many reasons why people decide to start a business. Maybe you’re seeking an escape from the nine-to-five routine; maybe you can’t stand working for anyone else for another minute; perhaps you’ve just been made redundant or it’s just that voice inside that’s been nagging you for some time, ‘it’s time to start your own business’.
Whatever the reason, the Low Carbon Business Programme will provide you with support to take you from your initial idea to starting and running your business.
The programme aims to create new employment opportunities in Thurrock in particular and the region more generally through supporting the start-up of new businesses.
To help new businesses in Thurrock and the surrounding area grow, we offer a range of support services including:
Starting-up/feasibility advice – We offer 1-2-1 advice on starting a business from scratch. We also provide a range of information and templates that you will find useful when developing your business idea.
Legal structures – We can advise you on the most appropriate legal status for your business and provide assistance on how to register your business whether you are a sole trader, partnership, limited company or any other entity.
Access to finance & funding – We will provide information on, and support you to access available finance options to help you get your business of the ground.
Business Planning – If you require a formal business plan to explain your organisation to others, or you want a plan that you can follow, we can help you put a full business plan together. As well as providing useful templates and examples so that your plan accurately reflects your business.
Sign-posting – There are a range of business support products and services available to help your business. We maintain relationships with these organisations so that we can recommend the right person for you at the right time of your journey.
Workshops & Seminars – Together with the partners in the Low Carbon Business Programme, we put on a number of seminars and workshops so that you can learn about the subjects that will help your business prosper.
Ongoing Support – We know that starting your own business is not easy. Once you are up and running we can continue to provide you with business support and mentoring for your first full year in business to make sure your business has every opportunity to prosper.
Our support can come in the form of 121 advice, providing information or seminars and workshops - depending on what your business needs. Contact us today to find out how you can benefit:
