Mark One Hire receives a grant from the EU to help out with the cost of a new energy-efficient heating system. Low Carbon Business took the firm through the application process.
Mark One Hire is an equipment hiring firm, hiring everything from access apparatus to heavy lifting gear. Mark One Hire has been “serving the business community for over thirty years.”
The firm has three convenient locations in Southend, Rayleigh and Chelmsford.
The business wanted to introduce a new, more energy-efficient heating system into the head office in Rochford/ Southend. A new heating system was highlighted as an area that could save the business money through energy costs.
Low Carbon Business offered Mark One Hire assistance with the chance to apply for a carbon reduction grant towards the cost of the project.
The grant was applied for and was approved at the grants panel. The project went ahead and cost Mark One Hire £31,482.00 of which Low Carbon Business was able to reimburse the maximum amount of £9,999.99 towards the project.
As a result of the project Mark One Hire is expecting to see electricity savings of 12,734kWh electricity and gas savings of 32,517kWh natural gas annually. This means that the firms will make a carbon saving of 12.65 CO2 tonnes per year, whilst reducing its overhead yearly costs by £2,141.
The team at Mark One Hire are very happy with the new installations and even happier with the cost reductions!
